Editorial

Abstract

Over the last two decades, Bengal Journal of Psychiatry has been regularly publishing peer-reviewed articles in psychiatry and allied disciplines. Carrying the legacy further, we have undertaken several important steps over the last one-year to increase the presence of the journal in the Indian psychiatry literature scenario. The long awaited first step in this direction was to acquire an ISSN number, which has been accomplished a couple of months back. Development of a website for the journal along with archiving of past issues is also under progress. In the coming years, we hope to extend the indexing process of the journal that will increase the impact even further. I seek active encouragement and co-operation of all the members of West Bengal branch of the Indian Psychiatric Society in making this effort a success.
